A new beginning

With unbearable pain I lay
Besides a sand clock totally bright
Sand dropping from the top, ebbing the light
The sand clock became darker and darker
The sky become darker and darker
With each of the grain I could taste death
With every wall clock tick I could smell new life
My journey was about to conclude
The hour and the minute hand merged
The grains were exhausted, the heartbeat stopped
The death smiled at me, it was my end
I smiled at death, it was a new beginning
